My Hero'sThis Website is dedicated not only to Shorin Ryu Shorinkan, but also all the people who have helped me through my life.
My Immediate Sensei- Salvatore Cirincione and Sensei Gricelda Vizcaino These two people have always been there for me in anyway I need them. They're like secondary parents to me, they've both helped me grow into what I am today. Both of them share the willingness to help others, compassion, and most of all Loyalty. There's a word we use in the dojo called "Giri". Giri is like an unpayable debt to someone for the kindness and support they've shown you. I owe a "Giri" to these two people. Quite frankly I love them and I don't know what my life would be like now without them. Kyoshi Nabil Noujaim Sensei Noujaim is again one of the kindest people I have ever met. He is very wise too. He taught my Sensei, and my Sensei has taught me the ways of Shorinkan. Of the things that Kyoshi Noujaim talks about the two things that come to my mind immediately is Chimugukuru, and a saying "Always keep the heat on the water". Chimugukru is basicly Heart. Physical technique is good in karate, but I have learned that its all about the heart. Sensei Noujaim is a good friend and an awesome teacher. Aileen Montano I dont even know where to start with Aileen. She has been my best friend since I was about 12 or 13 years old, and she has taught me a lot about Karate. She is a friend you'd be glad to have on your side because she will back you up whenever you need her! Nonetheless, she is one of the most selfless people I have ever met always sacrificing to be at the dojo. She is very good at balancing her school, dancing, karate, family and many other things in her life. She has always listened to my problems, and she gives good advice on many things. My life would'nt be the same without her. Nathan Strait Nathan is also my best friend. He always motivates me to try harder at the dojo, and to be the better person in every situation. His personality is hard to describe, but he is a nice guy nonetheless. I love him like a brother because I know no matter what he'll always have my back. He was also one of the first people I met at the dojo in 2003 that still trains. Nathan and I go way back and I think thats what makes our bond so strong. |
